.construction.

December 14, 2007

.prayer flags.

.please excuse the construction going on over at my photography site…i am in the midst of changing the style to be a bit more consistent with my overall brand/logo/products, as well as being more compatible with Mozilla/Firefox…for some reason the format is all messed up.  it is taking a bit more time than i anticipated as i am actually going to sleep at normal human hours…the nights of staying up until 3 am are on hiadus for a little while…at least until after the holidays. ;) .i have a newborn session this weekend that i am really looking forward to, and i will be bracing for the storm that is supposed to arrive here on Sunday.  Sunday is my birthday, and since i can remember it has always snowed, even just a little, on my birthday. i’m actually looking forward to being snowed in….hope you are all able to brave the storm if it is on it’s way towards you! .well i’ve been working on my site, listening to Parliment (gotta love the P-Funk ;), now i am going to cuddle up, watch Love Actually (my favorite holiday chick flick) and head to bed…cheers!

.still life.

December 6, 2007

.sometimes, when i am able to find a moment i take pictures just for me, to hang around my house and enjoy.  i have another newborn session coming up and i will be sure to post some session images soon.  i’ve been a busy bee over here, getting my business together, getting ready for the holidays (i finished all my shopping!), and just the general chaos of everyday life.  so please excuse teh long expanses between posts….i’ll be sure to post more often after the holidays.  i have some new products i am working on for the shop i will be sure to post up soon to give you a sneak peek….thank you to all of you who have purchased my actions and textures!

***p.s.*** my new lens arrived today..the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L…an early birthday/christmas present from my wonderful hubby…this puppy is going to kick it all up a notch for me and my portrait sessions, but most especially my wedding shoots…yeah! ;).

.textures now available.

November 12, 2007

.now available in PhotoSmith Photographer Resources is the first set of textures i will have available called Modern Grunge.  these 6 textures are large in size to allow you to apply them to photos without loosing the details of the textures when having to resize them.  i have two more texture packs in the works as well that i hope to have available by the end of the week.  i’ll be sure to post here when i have them ready.

.a brief intermission.

November 11, 2007

.just a brief intermission from session photos to ask if you guys caught the new photography show on VH1? It’s called The Shot…the first episode just aired and I caught the tail end of it this evening…pretty cool show!  The next show airs tomorrow night (Sunday) at 10 pm.  It is definitely worth checking out….if you watch it, stop back here and leave a comment to let me know your thoughts on the show :). we will now return to our regualr scheduled program!.

.sneak peek ;).

November 9, 2007

Goodness, sorry for the lack of posting lately…i’ve come down with a sinus cold and have been wiped out for the past week.  But before feeling sick, I had a shoot last Sunday, two boys who were both absolutely adorable. Here are some sneak peeks of some pics because I know their mom is anxious to see what I’ve been up to with these :)

.wedding bells anyone?.

November 6, 2007

In addition to my portrait sessions, I have recently made the jump into wedding photography. I have several weddings I am shooting next year and to best prepare and refresh some skills I have been shadowing an amazing local photographer.  Dino Petrocelli a photographer here in Albany, who in addition to photographing weddings and portraits, shoots for ever major bike magazine, has been on the Discovery Channel’s show Orange County Choppers and recently photographed the wedding of “Senior” from that show, has been kind enough to take me under his wing and show me the ropes of wedding photography. Though I have shot a wedding on my own before, I wanted to learn more from someone who has been in the business and who has established themself in the field.  He has been kind enough to let me follow him around while asking tons of questions, take photos and learn first hand the necessities and tricks it takes to shoot a wedding that is both technically correct and artistically unique.  If you are getting married and have the budget for a true, seasoned professional I would recommend him in a heartbeat.   The following shots in this post are pictures I took from more of a second shooters vantage point - mostly experimenting with light, camera settings, and composition while trying to stay out of his way so he can take the shots he needs to take.  I have learned so much from Dino the few times I have gone out to weddings with him, and I can’t wait to apply all that I have learned to the weddings I will be shooting on my own.
